Q) How does the basket work?
A) The basket is very much like a real shopping basket: click on the Add to basket button to buy and place them in your basket before going to the checkout. That's putting it simply!

Q)When do I have to log in?
A)To make online shopping safe and secure, you'll have to log in when you're submitting payment or personal details.

Q)Can I cancel or change an order?
A)Sorry, unfortunately we are unable to amend the order once it is confirmed.

Q)Do I need a receipt to return/exchange goods ordered from the website in store?
A)No. The NRM Online store is a different company to the NRM shop. However, you do need to keep you receipt to be able to return your goods by post back to the NRM Online Store. When returning goods by post you this is the customer’s responsibility

Q) What if my model is damaged but the box in intact?
A) Please contact us on 01904 685730 to inform us of the problem and we will then organize a replacement model (if possible) upon receipt of the damaged goods.

Q)Am I charged for the items as soon as I order them? A)Yes – you be charged as soon as you order has been confirmed.

Q)Can I specify a day or time for delivery?
A)No, not with Parcel Force delivery, please allow 28 days for delivery.

Q)Do I have to sign for my parcel?
A)Yes.

Q)What if I am out when the courier tries to deliver?
A)Parcel Force will leave a card at your address informing you of what action has happened with your parcel and what to do next. Normally there are three options:
1) Re deliver to the same address.
2) Re deliver to another address but you the customer will pay a further charge for this.
3) Collect the parcel from the local depot / Post Office.

Q) Can I send my parcel to a different address?
A)Yes - just put the address details in as you checkout. You cannot change the delivery address once the order has been placed – so please ensure you have included the correct address.

Q)Can I order from overseas?
A)Yes

Q)Can I have an order delivered overseas?
A)Yes - although delivery will cost more.

Q)What's the National Railway Museums policy on privacy and security?
A)Personal information is private so we treat it with the highest standards of safety, security and confidentiality. This means that you can rest assured that your credit card and personal information are safe with us. We never sell or give any information we have about you to any other company.

Q)What is the Credit Card Security Code/Card Verification Value (CVV)?
A) It's a unique 3-digit number printed on the back of your credit/debit card that helps us validate your purchase and protect against fraud. Since this isn't contained in the magnetic strip information, it doesn't get printed on sales receipts, so it's difficult for anyone other than the genuine cardholder to know it.
It's sometimes referred to as the Card Security Code, the Personal Security Code or the Card Verification Value (CVV).
Your order can't be fully processed without a valid Security Code. Once your order has been processed, your Security Code won't be held on file.

Q) What is DCC ready?
A)Digital Command Control. It means that the locomotive has space for a DCC decoder and a standard NMRA socket to plug it into. DCC - digital command control - is a control system for the model railway where a decoder onboard the locomotive is used to provide control of speed and direction of the motor. The instructions are passed from the 'throttle' to the decoder by means of digital signals that are superimposed over a constant track voltage. Q)Why are there more Deltic models available when you promoted the models as a limited option?
A)We have taken on onboard customer comments and due to popular demand we are able to offer 1000 models, which are now available.

Q)Can I buy only the pin badge?
A)No, this pin badge has been exclusively designed for this product and/or future specific products.

Q)Does the model come with a certificate?
A)No it doesn't

Q)Can I buy more than one model?
A)As we have many loyal customers who have missed the previous opportunities for this model we would ask that you take this into consideration and only purchase one per household.
